On May 31st we welcomed our new family addition, our son, Auggy! Our newborn baby boy is just perfect (to us). I’ve been on maternity leave since the beginning of May, and truly didn’t know when he’d arrive. So it was wonderful being able to prep our house and our lives for him for a few weeks before he was born.

I’ll keep this post pretty short and sweet, but I did want to share a little about the day(s) he joined our family. I wasn’t going in to labor naturally, except some contractions at night for several nights after his due date. So my doctor recommended induction at 41 weeks. We arrived at the hospital on May 30 in the evening to start the process. He was born 23 hours later at 7:10pm on May 31. He was born weighing 7lbs 1 oz, after what was a really intense, unmedicated (induced) labor. If you know what that is, you know it was intense! But for the sake of privacy and not wanting to overshare, that’s all I’ll share here.

We’re so in love with our new little guy, and it’s crazy to think he’s already almost 2 months old!
