Brittany is not only an outstanding human, but she successfully launched her own curated gift box service called My Bees Box. If that isn’t enough, she even built an app where customers can order online! She was kind enough to invite me into her gorgeous mid-century modern home several times this past year for sessions, which fits her brand aesthetic perfectly.
You might be wondering, why would you need to work together several times in one year? We worked together on multiple occasions because she’s one of my retainer brand clients — meaning she gets quarterly photo sessions because her business is always getting new products. Another plus is that Brittany’s always working hard behind the scenes to incorporate even more local + well-known products into her boxes!
As you can guess, she needs regular photo sessions to get photos of her wonderfully curated boxes. She spends so much time sourcing products + selling these sweet boxes (not to mention being a mom and a fiance, too), the last thing she has time for is taking her own photos. I also encouraged her to be in some of the photos – her social media followers really actively engage with photos that she’s in, sharing behind the scenes!
Brittany also has a perfect space for photographing her work, natural light and a nice open area, so it allows me to set up for her photos in almost no time at all. BUT having my own equipment (lighting, camera, lenses, props) is essential to getting polished, professional photos of her products, so that her boxes really stand out to her customers!
Bottom line is that Brittany is an expert at what she does, and she had a fantastic product that helps celebrate all the little (and big) things in life. Part of her philosophy is that gifting shouldn’t intimidating, you just need the right help to make you feel confident and love on the people who matter to you. THAT’S what she’s able to focus on creating for others, and THAT’S why she hired me to do the photography.
We all can’t be experts at it all! Thankfully she is amazing at curating gift boxes though (as well as renovating her stunning home, seriously you guys it knocked my socks off), so that all of us don’t have to be.
