Recently, I photographed one of Dana’s (of Feet Up Hospitality) vacation rental properties, Sandystone, in Fontana on Geneva Lake, Wisconsin. The home is part of the Abbey Springs resort community and combines modern comfort with relaxed lake living. With over 4,500 square feet, five bedrooms, and a bunk room called the “Enchanted Forest,” Sandystone offers a perfect setting for family gatherings and weekend getaways.

I’ve worked with Dana before to capture initial listing photos. This time, we focused on lifestyle content that showed guests enjoying the space. Dana loves to imagine guests relaxing, connecting, and using the amenities, so we brought that vision to life.

My goal for this commercial photoshoot for vacation rentals was to create a visual story that highlights warmth, personality, and the full guest experience. Each property helps guests unwind, so the imagery needed to feel welcoming, restful, and authentic.

I focused on three main ideas. First, we highlighted lifestyle moments that make the home feel inviting. Second, we showed the wide range of amenities that create memorable stays. Finally, we captured the scenic surroundings that offer peace and connection. Wide shots revealed the open layout and soft natural light. Detail shots featured cozy touches like dinner prep in the kitchen, games, and time relaxing together as a group.

Outdoor spaces played a key role. We scheduled the shoot around dinnertime to photograph guests grilling and enjoying the patio. We also featured the hot tub and backyard views, styled to feel approachable yet elevated.

Feet Up Hospitality will use the final images across their website, listings, and social media. The collection showcases the comfort, care, and personal touch that define their brand. Photographing Sandystone was a joy and a chance to share the feeling of being “a world away” while still close to home.
